Saddleback Valley Gets First 7-Year Renewal in the State!

It is with great excitement that we announce the 7-Year Charter Renewal for OPA-Saddleback Valley!! This is an amazing accomplishment, and it appears OPA-SV is the first in the state to receive this incredible honor!

Only schools designated by the California Department of Education as High Performing are eligible to receive a 7-year renewal. December 2, 2020, at the Orange County Board of Education meeting, the OCBE voted to renew the OPA-SV charter through 2028.

We are sad that we will not be able to celebrate this incredible achievement in person with our entire OPA community but will dedicate time at our next OPA Board of Directors meeting on December 10th to celebrating the renewal and outlining some of the many accomplishments that led to it.

OPA will continue this ongoing pursuit of excellence. All school conversations, initiatives and resources are focused on creating an educational environment where students access their unique gifts and interests to learn and build identity.  OPA is vested in the success of the entire OPA community and develops high-performing educators who help students identify how they learn best in a supportive and inclusive environment. The 7-year renewal is a testament to our pursuit of excellence for all community members and a renewed promise of our ongoing commitment to the families we serve.

OPA-Saddleback Valley is approved to operate through 2028.   OPA-South Orange County is due for renewal in 2024 and will hopefully also be eligible for a 7-year renewal at that time.

Thank you all for your support and dedication. It is because of our incredible OPA community that this achievement is a reality. Have a wonderful evening!
