We are extremely proud of the hard work of our Champions. It is incredible to see that even after the pandemic, our students are excelling. I want to thank our amazing OPA staff for their tremendous efforts to ensure that our champions are prepared academically with the tools and knowledge they need to be successful.

Last spring, all students in grades three through eight participated in the CAASPP in both ELA and Math, and students in grades five and eight participated in the California Science Test (CAST). These assessments are one of many measures used by OPA to assess student performance. OPA staff use these assessments, along with other measures, to understand students’ strengths and needs and help us determine areas of focus as we continue to provide rigorous, high-quality instruction for all students.

Following the pandemic, we know there is still a great deal of work to do to ensure our students are meeting their highest potential. However, OPA is committed to supporting all students academically, socially, and emotionally. With the support of our Board and staff, OPA has implemented a variety of enrichment and intervention opportunities to enhance and support the educational activities at both of our schools. We will continue to use data like the CAASPP results and other performance measures to modify and improve these our programs and ensure that our champions are receiving the highest quality education possible.

These incredible test scores are a true testament to the efforts of our entire OPA community, including our champions, staff, parents, Board, and community. More information regarding the CAASPP scores will be presented by Dr. Henry at our October 27, 2022 Board meeting. You can attend live at OPA-South Orange County or via Zoom at https://oxfordchampions.zoom.us/j/3203246235.

Have a wonderful evening. Go Champions!!!

Sincerely,

Amy Kernan
