Board of Director Member Search

The Oxford Preparatory Academy Board of Directors is conducting a search to fill an open Board Member position. Oxford Preparatory Academy (OPA) is a tuition-free, public charter school organization, serving grades TK-8 at two elementary schools and one middle school in south Orange County. 
 
Interested parties should submit a current resume and letter of intent to [email protected] between May 16 and June 8, 2025.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Board Members are actively involved in organizational governance and should reserve approximately 8-10 hours per month for operational business and to review documentation and information for Board Meetings. Board Members are expected to attend one regularly scheduled evening Board Meeting each month and Special Board Meetings as needed throughout the year. Terms are two years in length.
 
Board Members are welcome and encouraged to attend school events and organizational celebrations throughout the year. As pillars of the community, their dedication, hard work, and service to Oxford Preparatory Academy are greatly appreciated.

Search Timeline 

May 16 - June 8, 2025 Application window open
June 16 - 18, 2025 Screening interviews with a selection committee consisting of 2 Board members and the Executive Director
June 26, 2025 Finalists are invited to the final interview round and selection during the regular Board of Directors meeting. 
July 17, 2025 New Board Member is sworn in and begins serving term during the regular Board of Directors meeting. 

Restriction on interested persons as directors

No persons serving on the Board of Directors may be interested persons. An interested person is (a) any person compensated by the corporation for services rendered to it within the previous 12 months, whether as a full-time or part-time employee, independent contractor, or otherwise.
